Therapy for sexuality and gender.
Who you desire and who you are shape each other. We are a small team of experienced therapists working with LGBTQ New Yorkers — gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, and queer — for more than 25 years, in person in Manhattan and online across the state.

Serious, rigorous therapy — rooted in deep attention to inner life and the world it has to live in.
Sexual orientation
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and queer clients. Relationships and dating. Sex, desire, and intimacy. Coming out, at any age. Loneliness that doesn't lift with company. Substance use. Shame and self-worth carried since long before you could name it.
Trans & gender-expansive people
Support through questioning, transition, and everything after — for trans and non-binary adults, including dedicated work with trans youth and their families.
Couples & relationships
Partners in every configuration — and the other bonds that shape a life: family, friendship, chosen family.
Bodies, food, and eating
Eating disorders and body image — and the people whose relationship to appetite and control has never had a diagnosis attached to it.
Sex therapy
Sex treated as a subject in its own right. Desire and its absence, compulsivity, kink, function, pain, monogamy agreements, sex after transition, sex after trauma.
How we work
Kip has practiced in this area since 2014, and has been one of the few places in New York City to treat it as a specialty rather than a side interest. Our clinicians have spent their careers on sexuality, gender, and the relationships that carry them. That work has its deepest roots in queer and trans lives, and it extends to couples in every configuration, to sex itself as a subject, and to the relationship a person has with their own body. The work is deliberate and rigorous — attentive to history, to patterns, and to the parts of experience that are hard to put into words.

Fees, insurance, and getting started.
Fees & insurance
We are out-of-network with insurance — and that doesn't have to mean expensive. If your plan includes out-of-network benefits (many do), we can often submit claims on your behalf, reducing your out-of-pocket expenses. We'll help you check your benefits before you begin. More on fees →
