Our Approach

A Comfortable Space To Ask Hard Questions

Most online therapy companies operate like directories, finding the cheapest options as quickly as possible. At Kip, we’re a close-knit team of clinicians committed to high-quality, LGBTQ+ affirming care. We aren’t here to change who you are, we’re here to help you discover who you are.

Setting the standard for mental health care in NYC and beyond

Therapy is different for everyone. Together, we’ll define and work on the things that make it difficult to find your place in the world—like being queer, processing trauma, navigating career questions, or struggling with self-esteem. If you’re looking for an LGBTQ therapist in NYC, feel free to book with one of our experienced professionals.

LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapy

Kip Logo
About Kip

Kip was originally founded to fill a gap in mental health care for members of the LGBTQ+ community. Many members of the Kip team have lived experiences as LGBTQ+ people, and it remains one of the primary reasons clients work with us. Whether you’re queer, gay, lesbian, trans, non-binary, or still figuring it all out, Kip’s LGBTQ therapists provide a comfortable environment to explore your identity.

Trauma Informed Care

Therapy at Kip has a strong foundation in trauma-informed psychotherapy. Trauma, broadly defined, can include experiences that are truly life-threatening or experiences that are very overwhelming and confusing (such as oppression, stigma, and neglect). A trauma-informed therapist is a guide and companion to help you make sense of the effects that trauma has had on you, your emotional life, and your relationships, all in a safer and compassionate space.
“I’m one of many people who benefits from simple, but deep philosophy that guides my Kip therapist..”
“Kip seems to be an extraordinary force for good.”
“Friends who have worked with other Kip therapists are effusive.”
