Kip’s Division of Gender and Sexuality is built on the understanding that the lives and identities of each person has important, unique, and complex nuances. Our team of therapists is aware of the needs and experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning people; and are committed to acknowledging and exploring the impact that misogyny, transphobia, and homophobia can have on the mental health of our clients.
Whether you’re looking to better understand your identity, cope with trauma, work through shame, or navigate or strengthen your relationships, our clinicians provide person-centered and trauma informed care that affirms your identity and facilitates healing.

Our clinicians have access to dynamic and exciting training opportunities on the topics that impact our clients the most. Through our LGBTQ Clinical Fellowship, Gender and Sexuality Certificate Program, and other educational programming, clinicians are able to become more equipped to support the city’s queer and trans communities.
Our LGBTQ Clinical Fellowship is a two-year program that blends long-term LGBTQ-focused clinical work with intensive classroom instruction and supervision. At the conclusion of the program, fellows will have an intimate understanding of the breadth of experiences people face in navigating their gender identities and sexualities, and will develop their skills as affirming and LGBTQ competent clinicians.
Our Gender and Sexuality Certificate Program is a go-at-your-own-pace program that provides solid clinical and competency education to mental health providers throughout New York City, culminating in a certification.
Our courses are available to all clinicians, regardless of their participation in our Certificate or Fellowship programs
